The University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) hosted their April graduation ceremony for the College of Agriculture, Engineering and Science (CAES) at the Royal Agricultural Showgrounds in Pietermaritzburg on the 8th of April 2019.

UKZN Graduation Ceremony
2018 Spring Graduation
UKZN hosted their Spring Graduation at their Westville campus on the 13th of September 2018. MSc Plant Breeding staff and students, the
Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) affiliates, as well as the students' family and friends all attended the ceremony. Four MSc Plant Breeding students, Lucia Zinzi Ndala, McDonald Nundwe, Mwila Chibanda and Sibusiswangaye Mdluli graduated.

IMCDA Second Joint Partners Meeting Held in Durban
The Improved Masters in Cultivar Development for Africa (IMCDA) programme, funded by the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) with funding received from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), held its fourth Joint Partners Meeting in Durban from the 11th-13th of July 2017 to bring together all those involved in the programme to review the progress in the implementation of the programme. Dr Julia Sibiya replaces Prof John Derera as Project Manager of the MSc Project
Dr Sibiya recently took over the reins from Prof Derera as Project Manager of the MSc Project. Professor John Derera spent his last day at UKZN on the 26th of June 2015 as he prepared to make the move back to his home country of Zimbabwe to join Seed Co Limited in the prestigious position of Head of Research and Development.
